Ligel Lambert is an American (Haitian born), New York-based interdisciplinary contemporary artist and educator. His practice now consists mainly of paintings, collages, printmaking, and mixed media works of art. Ligel’s work engages with an ongoing exploration of possibilities related to the interpretation of sounds. His work examines the relationship between sound and its visual representation. His work is concerned with sound and the envisioning of all the various visual representations possible. As he envisions, imagines, and experiments with various materials, the work produced in the process may explore the emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological as pertaining to the impacts of living in our world. Notions of his various identities, idiosyncrasies, interests, and reflections on social commentaries are ever present in his work concealed with the use of his iconographic musical notations developed in his youth through the present.

Ligel has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Art from the Royal Melbourne Institute University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (2013); Masters in Education in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of West Florida, Pensacola, Florida (2021); In addition, he completed a Bachelors of Fine Art in Graphic Design (2011). Ligel is currently a doctoral student in the Art and Art Education program at Teachers College Graduate School of Education at Columbia University.
